It included many areas that did not burn. Now that the fire has been fully contained for several weeks The Forest Service has reduced the closure area, reopening many areas and trails that were not burned, but were in the initial closure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure.pdf\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6712\" src=\"http:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01.jpg\" alt=\"2016-10-17-sand-fire-closure_01\" width=\"515\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01.jpg 1650w, https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01-150x116.jpg 150w, https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01-300x232.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01-768x593.jpg 768w, https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-10-17-Sand-Fire-Closure_01-1024x791.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Newly re-opened trails include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Santa Clara Truck Trail (AKA the Beast) (4N17), from Newhall Road to the top of Wilson Canyon,<\/li>\n<li>Wilson Canyon (3N56)<\/li>\n<li>May Canyon (3N54)<\/li>\n<li>Viper<\/li>\n<li>Oak Springs Trail (14W10)<\/li>\n<li>all trails south of Mendenhall Ridge, including Condor Peak\u00a0and Trail Canyon,<\/li>\n<li>all trails\u00a0east of Moody Canyon, Lightning Point and Mt. Gleason.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Closed trails include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Los Pinetos Trail,<\/li>\n<li>Santa Clara Truck Trail (4N17) from Wilson Saddle to Mt. Gleason,<\/li>\n<li>Mendenhall Ridge (3N32),<\/li>\n<li>Powerline \u00a0(AKA Burma Road) (3N37),<\/li>\n<li>Pacoima\u00a0Canyon Trail,<\/li>\n<li>Moody Canyon (4N33),<\/li>\n<li>Indian Canyon (4N37),<\/li>\n<li>Pacific Crest Trail from Mt. Gleason to Indian Canyon,<\/li>\n<li>Dagger Flat Trail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Little Tujunga Canyon road remains closed from Santa Clara Truck Trail (Bear Divide) to 1.5 miles north of Gold Creek Road.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is needed for public safety and resource protection. The burnt areas could be subject to flash flooding, debris flows, and landslides during the coming winter rains, posing a danger to public safety.
