{"id":5335,"date":"2014-07-03T10:09:37","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T17:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/?p=5335"},"modified":"2014-09-02T09:24:35","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T16:24:35","slug":"sullivan-canyon-work-update-july-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corbamtb.com\/news\/2014\/07\/03\/sullivan-canyon-work-update-july-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Sullivan Canyon Work Update, July 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><em>The latest news from Mike Harriel of So Cal Gas regarding construction as they\u00a0move closer to the mandated test on its pipelines in Sullivan Canyon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Beginning July 8<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b><sup>th<\/sup><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00b7<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>We will conduct a bird survey to determine if any nesting birds are in the area of our work. If there are, the project will be delayed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00b7<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>If all is well with the nesting birds, we will work with a certified arborist to trim trees that could sustain damaged by construction equipment. The trimming will occur at the direction of the arborist and only the minimum necessary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00b7<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>An active beehive will have to be removed for the safety of our employees and users of the canyon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u00a0<b>Beginning July 14<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b><sup>th<\/sup><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00b7<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Construction mobilization will occur. You will notice the moving in of water tanks and other construction equipment. Tanks and equipment will be staged away from the trail. All soil will be returned to the excavation it is removed from.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00b7<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>A fire prevention plan is in effect to protect the canyon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u00a0As mentioned previously, the canyon trail will remain open. Signs will provide advance notice when the canyon is closed for hydro testing, which will occur over the course of one day. Signs will also be posted at the drop-in trails.
