ABOUT
the Concerned Off-Road Bicyclists Association

CORBA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization serving the mountain bicycling community of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas. We are dedicated to preserving open space, maintaining public access to public lands, and creating more trail opportunities for all to enjoy. All CORBA programs rely on private donations of funds and equipment.

We are passionate about the mountain biking experience and the mountains and trails that are available to us. We are also committed to our community and offer several programs that contribute to positive trail experiences for trail users. For more information about CORBA, click here:

CORBA Programs

CORBA Youth Adventures Program

Youth Adventures was created in 1983 to offer children with limited exposure to public parklands a free mountain bike adventure. Our one day sessions serve disadvantaged, inner-city or at-risk youth from ages 8-17. Youth Adventures supplies the bikes, helmets, gloves, water and snacks. Currently, we operate twice a month, serving over 350 kids annually, focusing on providing safe, enjoyable riding experiences. In addition to the riding, participants also learn about backcountry preparedness, wildlife habits and receive a souvenir photo of them with their bike.

CORBA Trail Crew

Almost all trail maintenance in Southern California is completed by volunteers. For over 12 years, CORBA has given thousands of hours to building new trails and maintaining existing ones.

Working closely with government agencies and land managers, CORBA organizes at least one work day per month. Everyone is welcome and no experience is required.

CORBA'S Free Mountain Bike Skills Clinics

Continually offered since 2002, CORBA's free skills clinic program has provided thousands of mountain bikers with instruction and skills to become better and safer riders.

The CORBA Mountain Biking Skills Clinic is taught every month as part of CORBA's ongoing effort to educate mountain bicyclists in appropriate use of backcountry trails. Each class begins with a discussion of backcountry preparedness, shared use etiquette, and simple maintenance tips. Skills stations include proper seated rider position, controlled braking and slow speed technical maneuvering, pedaling cadence/gear use, and proper riding position and technique for climbing and descending.

CORBA Recreational Rides

CORBA offers a full schedule of free mountain bike rides throughout Southern California for all skill levels. All rides are open to everyone and lead by experienced and knowledgeable guides as a great way to experience a variety of trails. In addtion to regularly scheduled rides throughout the week, we organize extended trips throughout the Western US.
